Okay, thats an exaggeration, but it really is a great app. I constantly find myself looking up French words and conjugations. Worth the money!

Wonderful app Easy to use. Intelligible pronunciation.
I have studied several languages for a long time and this is about the best Ive ever seen The price is more than reasonable I gave the app to my husband for our next trip to France
Love this app. The most useful foreign language dictionary app I have found to date.
The french dictionary is phenomenal, and I have since converted to using Ascendo dictionaries for all modern languages. Any word not included is easily found by tapping the web icon in the search field, which will pull the definition from reverso or another online dictionary. Fast, very organized, and comprehensive. Best 10 bucks Ive spent on an app.
I teach high school French and this app is a really good for students. It helps them learn words, sentences and conjugations. Its been a great addition to my class curriculum.
Very thorough and easy to use
Oh really easy tool to use. From French to English or English to French. Very easy to pull up on my iPhone and quickly find what Im looking for. And I like that you can searchThe Internet when it doesnt get a hit within the tool itself.
So very helpful and a wonderful reference.
An okay dictionary app should have a search button on *every* screen. Tapping back 4 times to search for a new word isnt the best pattern. Developers insist that they cant help quieting system audio when the app is open for their own pronunciation features when no other dictionary has this flaw. The dictionary also lacks Québecois words. Also the app still hasnt been updated for iOS which doesnt bode well for new customers looking for a non-abandoned app.
I read a fair amount of French. I bought this app in order to look up words that appear, for example, in journalistic writing. Unfortunately, I often cannot find a word that appears to be commonly used in written French. When this happens, I go on line to look for the meaning and almost always find it. Perhaps I would be happier with this dictionary if my French were at a more elementary level. It does a nice job, for example, with the various conjugations of verbs. For others, I would suggest they look elsewhere for a better French-English dictionary app.
I knew there would be many words, and pronunciation for them, but there were many intuitive surprises as well that make this app easy to navigate, and the vocabulary has idiomatic entries as well. All I could think of to add is more vocabulary, which can always grow!
I have to say that Im completely delighted with this app; it does everything as adviced; user-friendly; and a long etcetera. Worth every cent
Improved over earlier versions. Pronounciation of verb forms is indeed useful.
Ive been using this for a couple of years and Ive found almost every word that Ive looked for. Theres an occasional word that I cant find but since this app makes no claim to being unabridged, I cant deduct any points. I love being able to add my own notes as well as the verb conjugations provided.
Very complete and easy to use. Being an offline tool is a key benefit.
This is a great app. Very easy to use and great when traveling. The dictionary is comprehensive and the interface is fast and bug free. I used it extensively traveling Paris as a tourist and think it would be a great educational tool for a student. The verb conjugations are very useful for a traveler and learner. It also pronounces the words which is an awesome addition for any beginner.
I have had this app for at least 18 months and love it. I am learning French and it is my “go to” source for word meanings and conjugation. I attended language school in France last summer and impressed my fellow students with this wonderfully useful resource. When I returned from France, I must confess that I slacked off my French studies. When I opened it up a few days ago, I discovered that there was no sound. The pronunciation had been a key feature that I had relied on greatly. I emailed the company to ask about it, never dreaming that I would hear back. But I did in less than 24 hours! I was given a “fix” to get the French pronunciation until a final solution is found. I could not be happier. I am back at work on my French because I will be returning to France this fall!
I have three Vidalingua apps and I love them all. I dont speak French, but I come across enough French words and phrases that I wanted a dictionary that would allow me to get around in those texts. Bonus points if I could find a dictionary that would pronounce the words for me so I could hear the words in my head in future. This one does the trick --and more. I can attach photos to dictionary entries, as well as audio clips and notes. I love the fact that both languages appear together -- no need to swap languages to enter a word in one or the other languages. I also love the ability to choose the version of audio pronunciation the user wants: Australian, UK, or US. Nifty! Finally, the developer responded promptly and helpfully to my request for information on the apps privacy policy. I like the privacy policy (and wish developers would include those in description of app. But until they do, its nice to find a responsive developer with a policy thats protective of the users privacy.) In sum: great app thats easy to use and that has lovely features that are unexpected in an app - especially at this price.
This app is terrible. Got it to help my daughter in beginner French class and found it lacking in words, verb usage. Try inputting coiffer and you will find nothing helpful. Do not by this app!!
